1. Consignment (n.) [kənˈsaɪn.mənt]
an amount of goods that is sent somewhere
EX: The most recent consignment of cloth was faulty.
2. flick (v.) [flɪk]
to move or hit something with a short sudden movement
EX: He carefully flicked the loose hairs from the shoulders of his jacket.
3. digress (v.) [daɪˈgres]
to move away from the main subject you are writing or talking about and to write or talk about something else
EX: The lecturer temporarily digressed from her subject to deal with a related theory.
4. knell (n.) [nel]
a warning of the end of something
EX: The opening of the superstore will sound the death knell for hundreds of small independent shops.
5. penitent (adj.) [ˈpen.ɪ.tənt]
showing that you are sorry for something you have done because you feel it was wrong
EX: It was hard to be angry with him when he looked so penitent.
